The house mouse (Mus musculus) can be found in buildings / houses and rural buildings, they are a grey or brown in color and their body length varies between 60mm to 90mm and their tail can add another 100mm to their length. Mice droppings are black and a rod shape, they are about 3mm to 6mm in length.They can weigh less than 25g.

Mice live in nests that they build out of wool, cloth and paper, which usually are found inside buildings or in sheltered areas, but mainly inside during the cold winter months, they like spaces under floors or in wall cavities, attics are a popular place for mice as they also usually build their nests close to a good food source.

Mice are mainly active at night and they can fit through holes as small as 4mm but mouse holes are normally 20mm to 30mm in diameter. Mice will eat anything but their favourite food is cereal products, Mice also urinate in food as well as leaving droppings, they will chew their way through anything to get to a good food source.

Mice also carry some nasty diseases to humans such as Salmonella, Listeria, which can cause food poisoning.
